A Look At The First Two Days of the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans

The 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans has been another wonderful event so far. The weather has been perfect for golf and the leaderboard is stacked with some top names. The crowds have been great and the golf has been too.

So far we see a 5-way tie for the lead at -13, which includes the team of McIllory/Lowery. Former Champions Schauffele and Cantlay are not far back in a 6-way tie at 5th sitting at -12. Also at -12 is one of our favorite teams and fellow GolfFOREVER ambassadors Ryan Palmer and Zach Johnson.

Today looks to be another great weather day, however, the winds are forecast to be stronger with gusts up 30 mph. This will make it a tougher day but in the Best Ball format teams will still be able to go low. The conditions of the golf course have been superb. TPC Louisiana has done a fantastic job and giving these players a true test of golf. Those conditions have led to some hole-outs as well as some 3-putts.

The golf and weather have not been the only thing that has been great either. The food, the crowd, and the nature have also been wonderful. Thursday we watched as a gator came towards us making his/her way from 15 tee, across 17 tee, trying to get to the pond. You may have seen the video or TV coverage of that as it did delay a group from teeing off on the 17th hole on Thursday. If you missed it check out the video below.

We look forward to seeing more great golf over the weekend and we will bring you some more news and photos on Monday.

If you are out there and want to see the featured group of McIllory/Lowry get out there early enough and get a hole or two ahead of them to get a good spot along the ropes for a good view. One of the best places to get a great view is to the right of 3 tee. From there you can cross hole 7 and watch the same group play into the green of hole 6 then tee off on hole 7. From there you can follow a group on the exciting 13th hole and 14. From there cut over the the 11th green and wait for the group to play their second shots into the par 5. After that make your way and get a good spot along the 18th fairway or green and enjoy the rest of the day until they finish.

If you didn't have a chance to make it yesterday or see it on TV here are some photos from the day.
